CAMELOT [ONGOING] | struCturAl ModEL cOrroboration Toolbox

The objective of CAMELOT is to provide an innovative solution for monitoring the structural health of buildings and large-scale structures/infrastructures. CAMELOT supports engineers and professionals throughout the entire decision-making process, from instrumental examination (e.g., monitoring system design) to diagnosis (data processing and interpretation), and all the way to prognosis (evaluation of Residual Life Assessment). The project focuses on various aspects that will lead to tangible outcomes, such as the optimization of (i) the graphical user interface of the code, (ii) hardware components, and (iii) other aspects like intellectual property and the business model. The primary goal is to ensure the legal marketability of our technology. Based on these results, CAMELOT aims to achieve at least a TRL5, starting from a TRL4.
CAMELOT consists of 2 services and a product. The supplied product is a software able to tell if a specific monitored structure/infrastructure is healthy or if it is undergoing pathological conditions. This is done through the use of advanced Machine Learning techniques. To do this, we need to acquire data from a monitored facility. With the first service, therefore, an intelligent (optimized) design of the experimental setup is proposed with which the data that the software will use for the assessment of structural health will be acquired. The second service, on the other hand, offers advanced support that involves the creation of a Digital Twin (based on physical laws) of the structure being monitored. Thanks to the use of this digital twin, it is thus possible to investigate in more detail the causes of the pathology that is affecting the structure.
